Richard Mitry is an accredited mediator (NMAS).

 

He is also a commercial disputes partner at Mitry Lawyers, and was one of the founders of that firm in 2009. Mitry operate a substantial litigation and class action practice around Australia.

Prior to that, he worked at top-tier and boutique firms in Australia and in the United Arab Emirates, after he received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours.

 

Richard's main areas of mediation are in commercial disputes (litigated or otherwise), property law and leasing, franchising and defamation and media law.​

He has an academic appointment as an Adjunct Professor of Law at OP Jindal Global University in India where he lectures in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

​

He also lectures in the Masters of Law at College of Law and regularly contributes to education, providing lectures to the community and other lawyers.

He also appears regularly on Australian morning television news and evening current affairs programs discussing current legal issues, including appearing as the commentator in a weekly morning segment on the Nine network called "Lawyer Up".
